The Carmarthen Bay Film Festival started in back 2011 with just 35 submissions and a hand full of visitors. Year on year CBFF has grown and now receives over 1000 submissions from indie filmmakers worldwide.

Respected for its reputation of supporting filmmaking from the grassroots up, CBFF has become Wales’ premier film festivals. Each year CBFF screen over 100 films at the festival’s main venue, the impressive Ffwrnes Theatre in the heart of Llanelli. The festival also hosts various satellite events around the Carmarthen Bay area, and now attracts indie filmmakers and fans from around the world.

As a BAFTA Cymru & IMDb qualifying festival, and now a BAFTA British Short Film and BAFTA Scotland qualifying festival, CBFF is respected for its reputation of supporting filmmaking, and its commitment to the filmmaking community. Carmarthen Bay Film Festival is consistently chosen by filmmakers as one of FilmFreeways Top 100 Reviewed Festivals.
